She makes you smile, she frowns
She makes you laugh, she cries
She makes you strong, she’s weak
She makes you happy, she’s sad
For all she gives to you
She takes from herself
And when she’s done giving
She’s left with nothing else
She’s not a people pleaser
She’s a you -pleaser
She’s really good at hiding her true emotions
So good, it’s scary.

It’s a book by Colleen Hoover, same title like my poem -Confess.
If you haven’t read it, you should it’s a good book.

Such a concise and cutting poem! As a man I read it with responses of my own, and in the end felt like a monster or like apologizing. Neither. Both. Great work
