Why am I still single? : Not ready to settle for less.

As humans we were created to dream –go big or go home. For each individual “less” is relative.

Less could be lack of romantism, less could be 5’11, less could be 4 packs, less could be not acknowledging God, less could be bed skills.

For me, less is anything lower than I was made for, less is anything below my standards.

What are those standards?

God fearing, Kind, humble, Compassionate, Hard working, Positive spirited, Supportive, Loyal, Honest, Truthful, Faithful

I know what I want and how I want it.

I know I want someone who makes me feel special

I know I want someone who cares deeply for me

I know I want to be someone’s priority not second option

I know I want to be happy, not just sometimes but every time

I’m not delusional, I know happiness can’t be tied to someone, but I want you to be a pleasant addition to my life

I know I want to feel loved

I want the unadulterated love

Free of toxins

I don’t want a love-hate love

I want a love that doesn’t cheat.

Sadly, infidelity is the order of the day.

The National Health and Social Life Survey found that 40% of married men, 16% of cohabiting men, and 37% of dating men engaged in acts of sexual infidelity compared to 1% of married women, 8% of cohabiting women, and 17% of women in dating relationships.

I’m a romantic but I’m also a realist.

So, If I want chocolate flavored ice cream, I’ll keep searching till I find it, I’ll starve myself and not fill my belly with plain old vanilla.

…waiting…

      1. It’s my pleasure lovely.

Yes ma’am and even ‘pleasant’ on the outside, doesn’t mean a good heart. My life is beautiful and when men ask, ‘are you single?’, I smile and say, ‘yes’, but they don’t understand why. Something must be wrong. Lol

My standards are high. Maybe God will send a pole vaulter. πŸ™‚ Show me your heart at the door. ❀

Nothing is wrong, except for the men you’ve met so far.
“show me your heart at the door” -love that.
Trust me your standards aren’t high, they only seem high to low men. It’s not even about looks -money can fix that -it’s about deeper things, you can’t clean a rotten soul.

  2. Like Socrates I always question absolutes and surveys. How objective they are. Are they base on the entire universe, a section of the universe? If it’s a section of the universe it can’t be applied to the universe. In the case of our planet we have different cultures, has a .4 percentage has been taken from all cultures to be applied to the earth? Yet again we are human beings and all are individual entities of the universe. I’m not proposing anything I just question and ask myself if one even applies to everyone as a whole.

    1. Well, we can fault surveys but we can’t take it down.
The good thing is, it doesn’t apply to all. There are still faithful partners in the world, all hope isn’t lost. And yes the actions of one person shouldn’t determine all.

  3. Nice. I wish you all the success in the world. πŸ™‚
By the way, when you say “Pls bare with me” I suspect you mean “Pls bear with me.” The former involves more nudity than you probably intended. πŸ˜‰
If not, then ‘scuse my interference.

      1. Haha, I’m struggling to be my own editor at the moment. Just finished a 50,999 word first draft of a novel and struggling to find the motivation to edit it into shape. 😦
        It’ll work out.
        Eventually.
S’funny, I feel obscurely disappointed that the clothes went back on. πŸ˜€

      2. Well I just had to ask 😊

It’ll definitely work out, you’ve got positivity and that’s more important than the words. Motivation is a writers best friend and worst enemy.

Haha, well you called it, enjoy the view πŸ˜‚

    1. true, Jerry Seinfeld often says in his new ‘comedians in cars getting coffee’ show that only comedians really get comedians. just as I think writers get writers. we are a different breed. but I wouldn’t want it any other way. I embrace who I am, how I am, and I think the right person can love us despite (or even for) our …quirks?/eccentricities/depths/lol πŸ™‚

      1. That is very true, and sometimes it simply isn’t worth eating up all that we don’t want in the cup, in order to fill up the cup with what we really desire. And if we eat it all, who is to say that the server woun’t believe you enjoyed it and give you more of the same? So we rather get a new cup, one that we want. Someone else might actually enjoy the vanilla after all ^^,

        Thank you ❀

      2. Yes πŸ˜‚
This is why I love metaphors!

And yes I truly believe someone else might feel vanilla is the best thing ever and chocolate is meh.
We all want to be happy, and we derive it from different things.

  4. Wife and I met 33 years ago, married 32 years back and still madly in love. A love as deep as the soul. We didn’t wake up love before its time. We waited on God. And we fell in love really a year after we married. Yep. Not the other way around.

    1. Oh just seeing this. How this wound up in spam comments is beyond me, I’d have to take this up with wordpress.

A year after! I guess things don’t always happen as we’d expect. πŸ˜‚
      33yrs wow!
Love how you said we didn’t wake up love before it’s time -I believe that’s what most people are doing nowadays.
